The Addictions and Community Services Worker program is a diploma program comprised of on-campus lectures and labs, field trips, industry-related projects, and a work experience component that provides the student with the theory, hands-on experience, and applied learning opportunities. The program prepares the graduate for entry-level positions in community social services with particular attention to the specific needs of people affected with addiction.

Health Care Assistants (HCAs) provide support for patients with physical or mental health issues who need permanent or temporary care in facilities such as retirement homes, hospices, group homes, and acute care facilities. Health Care Assistants are an invaluable part of the Canadian healthcare system.

The program covers fundamental office procedures and technology such as information processing, business procedures, keyboarding, and Microsoft Word and Excel programs. It also teaches medical office-specific skills like human anatomy, medical terminology, and medical transcription. Students are able to put these skills into practice through a mandatory practicum in a real-world medical office.
